I cannot believe this day is finally here! Just two months ago the idea of having my own blog up and running was still a faraway dream.

And even just two years ago, I knew nothing about cooking. I was recently married, with too many kitchen gadgets and knick knacks from my registry to know what to do with. I also had just recently moved into an apartment with my own kitchen for the first time, after sharing space with roommates my whole adult life. Working on my feet all day as a full-time teacher, I would come home physically exhausted, just wanting to eat a nice, healthy meal. Takeout wouldn’t cut it – besides, that was simply out of our budget.

It was really my connection with art and creativity that drew me to the kitchen. I grew up as a fine artist, oil painting and drawing my whole childhood and learning computer animation in college. I soon realized that cooking and everything that goes with it could be another art form for me. Thinking of ideas for meals, colorful combinations of tastes and textures, and how to present everything together visually all while keeping kosher, made my creative side jump for joy.

Now, two years and six thousand miles later I’m still making colorful, healthy and filling dinners thanks to my amazing followers. It’s shocking to see how much has changed from my very first post on Instagram – which, frankly, left a lot to be desired – to where I am today. The love and encouragement I receive from all of you is what led me to decide it was time for the blog. Little did I know that putting up a website is not that simple.

I actually tried once before this and got discouraged fairly quickly after failing to figure out the offerings on WordPress’s site. I also had so much trouble designing a logo, so I was just generally discouraged and gave up before long. Then I moved to Israel and met my friend Rachee, an awesome UX/UI designer, graphic designer, website builder and all around really creative person. She encouraged and inspired me to finally get my blog up and running. So I did! With a LOT of help from her of course!

Over these past two months, I have researched, designed and edited my blog to be everything that I want it to be. I didn’t want it to be just a blog. I wanted it to be a resource of recipes, easy to work with and visually appealing— after all, I am studying to be a UX/UI designer too! I also put a lot of thought into designing my own logo. I wanted it to be fun, creative and catchy and I am so happy with the results.

So take a look around the website. Enjoy the recipes on the Blog page according to when they were made or go to the Recipe page and enjoy the index and categories. Visit the Work With Me page if you’re looking for a cooking event, want to have a fun date night, or just want to learn how to make show-stopping appetizers. Right now the blog doesn’t have too much content since I was working on getting the bones of the site ready. Because of the time of year, I specifically prioritized content for the Purim section. There are so many creative hamantaschen ideas there for you, you’ll have trouble deciding which not to do! Slowly all my past recipes which you’ll remember from Instagram will make their way onto the website, along with a steady stream of all-new recipes I am constantly making up in my beautiful Israeli kitchen.

    Nice site and great looking foods! Blog’s are very rewarding (although I may be biased) and it’s nice to see a well-designed food blog. Is there no way to subscribe?

      Thanks so much! I am very excited about the blog! There should be two ways to subscribe. There should be a pop-up the first time you visit the site and also always on the homepage, underneath the big photo bar with the 3 newest posts, there is a subscribe to receive recipe updates! Does that show up by you?
